WordCamp Singapore is now accepting speaker applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speakers are at the core of every WordCamp providing a chance to be involved. &nbsp;We\u2019re looking for talks on a variety of topics to cover different stages of the WordPress journey from beginner to expert. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Talks for all skill levels will be considered, and a presentation on things you learned setting up your very first website can be just as valuable as a technical walk-through of how custom fields are implemented within WordPress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-very-light-gray-background-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>WordCamp Singapore speaker applications close midnight, Sunday 30th June, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once submissions close, the selection process will commence and we\u2019ll contact everyone as soon as possible via email to confirm details once our voting has been finalised. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Topics<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All topics should be related to WordPress. At previous WordCamps&#8217; we&#8217;ve had talks on WordPress development, copywriting, blogging, design, marketing, business, and SEO. For some inspiration, take a look at past WordCamp talks over at <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.tv\/?s=wordcamp+singapore\">WordPress TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Front end development<\/li><li>Back end development<\/li><li>Writing copy and content<\/li><li>WordPress business topics<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re also specifically interested in any talks on the following topics<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Site creation case-studies<\/li><li>WordPress &amp; Javascript development (Gutenberg, etc)<\/li><li>Talks aimed at WordPress beginners<\/li><li>Talks covering a topic you wish you had heard before you started out in your own WordPress journey<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-squared\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/2019.singapore.wordcamp.org\/be-a-speaker\/apply\/\">Submit the speaker application<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What We Look For<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you haven\u2019t spoken at a conference before, don\u2019t let that hold you back! We do not require you to be famous, or a \u201cguru\u201d, or have a special certification, all we ask is that you be able to present your chosen topic passionately and respectfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We do have some general guidelines for talks, though, and here they are: Your talk should be\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>directly related to WordPress, or immediately applicable and relevant to our audience<\/li><li>respectful of the WordPress community, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/2019.singapore.wordcamp.org\/about\/code-of-conduct\/\">WordCamp code of conduct<\/a>, and the GPL<\/li><li>something that interests you, that you want to share!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Event Details<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Talks can be either&nbsp;<strong>20<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>45<\/strong> minutes in total length. Expect to have between 10 to 15 minutes for Q&amp;A.<\/li><li>Talks will be on&nbsp;<strong>Friday, 16th August 2019<\/strong>.<\/li><li>We plan to record all the talks and post the videos to WordPress.tv.
