Call for Instructors

Do you have knowledge that would benefit the WordPress community? WordCamp Singapore is now accepting workshop applications.

Workshops are at the core of every WordCamp providing a chance to be involved and contribute back to WordPress and/or the community.  We’re looking for workshops on a variety of topics to cover different stages of the WordPress journey from beginner to expert.

Workshops for all skill levels will be considered, and a session on setting up your first website with a selection of plugins can be as valuable as a technical workshop of how custom fields are implemented within WordPress.

WordCamp Singapore workshops applications close midnight, Wednesday 31st July, 2019.

Once submissions close, the selection process will commence and we’ll contact everyone as soon as possible via email to confirm details once our voting has been finalised.

Calling for Volunteers

We are looking for energetic, responsible and WordPress-loving people to be our volunteers to help make WordCamp Singapore 2019 awesome!

Being a volunteer will give you lots of perks such as meeting awesome speakers from all over the world, swag and free entry to the event + after party, and being a part of our WordCamp Singapore organising team!

Interested? See our Call for Volunteers page for more info!

Buy your Tickets!

We’re happy to announce that tickets are officially available for WordCamp Singapore 2019!

Tickets are $40 $30 SGD for the conference and contributor day, that gets you one day of excellent presentations over two tracks, morning tea, lunch, coffee, swag, and access to the after party! On Saturday you will have access to our contributor day filled with hands-on workshops.

Yes, that’s the all-inclusive ticket at a low forty thirty-dollars. WordCamps are low-cost to allow as many people as possible to attend, even if you only WordPress in your spare time or use it to blog about your cat.

We rely upon our amazing sponsors to make it all possible. (It’s not too late to sponsor WordCamp Singapore 2019 either!)

Tickets are not unlimited and will run out, get in early to secure yours and be first in line for any swag!

Every ticket sale helps us. Putting on such a large event requires a lot of planning and behind-the-scenes work that many never see – knowing how many people will be there helps us plan the amount of food and coffee to order, the amount of swag, and even the venue size!

We have to lock in all of these details weeks (or even months) in advance, so tickets will be limited and last-minute ticket purchases might be impossible!

PS. Speaker submissions will be open for a few more weeks, don’t forget to submit your presentation ideas!

Call for Speakers

Do you have knowledge that would benefit the WordPress community? WordCamp Singapore is now accepting speaker applications.

Speakers are at the core of every WordCamp providing a chance to be involved.  We’re looking for talks on a variety of topics to cover different stages of the WordPress journey from beginner to expert.

Talks for all skill levels will be considered, and a presentation on things you learned setting up your very first website can be just as valuable as a technical walk-through of how custom fields are implemented within WordPress.

WordCamp Singapore speaker applications close midnight, Sunday 30th June, 2019.

Once submissions close, the selection process will commence and we’ll contact everyone as soon as possible via email to confirm details once our voting has been finalised.

Topics

All topics should be related to WordPress. At previous WordCamps’ we’ve had talks on WordPress development, copywriting, blogging, design, marketing, business, and SEO. For some inspiration, take a look at past WordCamp talks over at WordPress TV.

  • Front end development
  • Back end development
  • Writing copy and content
  • WordPress business topics

We’re also specifically interested in any talks on the following topics

  • Site creation case-studies
  • WordPress & Javascript development (Gutenberg, etc)
  • Talks aimed at WordPress beginners
  • Talks covering a topic you wish you had heard before you started out in your own WordPress journey

What We Look For

If you haven’t spoken at a conference before, don’t let that hold you back! We do not require you to be famous, or a “guru”, or have a special certification, all we ask is that you be able to present your chosen topic passionately and respectfully.

We do have some general guidelines for talks, though, and here they are: Your talk should be…

  • directly related to WordPress, or immediately applicable and relevant to our audience
  • respectful of the WordPress community, the WordCamp code of conduct, and the GPL
  • something that interests you, that you want to share!

Event Details

  • Talks can be either 20 or 45 minutes in total length. Expect to have between 10 to 15 minutes for Q&A.
  • Talks will be on Friday, 16th August 2019.
  • We plan to record all the talks and post the videos to WordPress.tv. Speakers will need to sign an A/V release form prior to giving their presentation.
  • Speakers will be offered free admission to WordCamp Singapore, but will not be otherwise compensated.

WordCamp Singapore speaker applications close midnight, Sunday 30th June, 2019.

If you’d like to propose multiple topics, please submit the form multiple times, once for each topic.

If you have any questions about speaking, or if you have trouble accessing or using the talk submission form, please email us or tweet us at @WordCampSG.
